2016 - End of Year Summary Meeting

End of Year Summary Meeting:  Tuesday 22nd December

1. Tell us about your biggest success this year!

  • Getting through the year.  Did not want the level this year - it was a big change.  Reflection is that being in this team has been good for me - Kylie has been a great leader for me.  There is praise, support, discussion, direction and this has led to personal and professional growth. There is a strong sense of team.
  • Term 1 was hard, wondering if I was teaching at the level the kids needed.  Observations were useful.  It is a good place to be heading into 2017.

2. What is the area you felt did not work as well as it should have?

  • Managing the behaviour of the boys - it has been an area for two years in a row that I have not been happy with.  2017 PLD request.

3.  What difference have you made for your target kids? Evidence?

  • All have made progress.  Te Wairangi and Erika are targets across the board - made progress in all 3. Some have progressed out of being 'NS targets'.  Evidence is in assessment and in modelling books.  Ask Erika, she knows (which is great).
  • Dallas and Charlie are of concern still (learning being inhibited by behaviour).

4. What areas can we support you more in 2017?

  • Having a teacher aide has been beneficial, is it possible to have this support in 2017? Discussed ICS and how teacher aide support works in class.

NOTES FOR 2017:

  • Keep Kylie / Rikki on the loop around parent concerns / complaints
  • PLD - behaviour management
  • PLD - Blog management and use
  • PLD - writing (CKCPA work will support this)
GOALS: Teacher practice around behaviour management

ATTESTATION
As our school has focussed on RTC 4, 6 and 11, I appreciate there is little evidence on other areas.  I acknowledge that there is work and learning for Miss Clark to do around use of ICT for reflection purposes but am satisfied that she has met the RTC for 2017.  Rikki Sheterline (Principal) 22/11/16

Target Children

I have assessed Te W at stage four level across the curriculum. This puts him at level one at 5 years. RTLB have been in and assessed him and we are getting 5 hours for him next term.

#6: conceptualise, plan and implement an appropriate learning programme
Plan and implement a more detailed learning programme, with next steps for learning that explicitly support progress of target learners

I need to set up more classroom activities to correspond with literacy and maths plans. Have changed my reading groups twice so need to settle on these and be more organised with ;daily 5 . Where am i heading and how many students do i want in my reading, maths groups. Looking at two each time but does this give them enough interaction or am i not being fair here? Are they okay coming up with their own strategies with a bit of direction? Next steps-children come up with these with assistance? Questions, questions?
